Questions, answered
How are the prayer times calculated?
On your iPhone, using a recognised calculation method for your country and your location. They update every day automatically. If your local masjid's times differ, you can adjust each prayer by a few minutes in Settings.
Can RUKU see which apps I use?
No. RUKU uses Apple's Screen Time. You choose apps in Apple's own picker, and Apple gives RUKU only an anonymous token to pause them. RUKU can't see app names or how you use your phone.
What if I can't pray right away?
Tap “I'll pray later” and your apps unlock. You can still mark the prayer as prayed when you do. You can also change how long after the Azaan apps pause, and for how long.
Is there an option for sisters?
Yes. On days Salah isn't obligatory, one tap unlocks your apps. Those days pause your streak and are never shown as missed.
Does RUKU work in Arabic?
Yes. RUKU follows your iPhone's language. To change it for RUKU only, go to iPhone Settings, then RUKU, then Language.
